Greensboro, NC (January7, 2026)—Greensboro’s new highly anticipated live music venue The Pyrle announcesitsinitial lineupof genre-spanning shows, with more than 20 dates beginning Friday, February 27, 2026. The venue is located in Greensboro’s historic downtown corridor in a building erected in 1936 as a Montgomery Ward department store. It served as the arts and culture theater Triad Stage from 1999-2023, and has since been renovated in partnership with local contractors and Portland-based WORKS Architecture, whose projects have included The Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO; the Longacres Amphitheater in Renton, WA; and the Lloyd Center in Portland, OR.

The Pyrle is a 1,000-person capacity venue that includes a cocktail bar, VIP and stadium seating options, multiple mezzanines, and a private rental space that is available for large events, with catering and bar service packages available. In addition to a wide array of live music, the venue plans to offer other entertainment programming, like stand-up comedy, movie nights, sports live streams, and more. On non-show nights, the venue will boast a “music lovers” bar serving craft cocktails and beer six nights a week.

The Pyrle’s ownership group comprisesGreensboro natives Durant Bell,Daniel McCoy, Arthur Samet,Will Stewart, and Jeff Yetter, who each come from a variety of backgrounds, namely real estate, commercial construction, and hospitality. The venue is headed by General Manager Dominick Amendum, a Grammy-nominated performer, producer, and administrator with over 25 years’ experienceworking in the music industry, and a North Carolina native.

“The initial artist lineup represents the depth and breadth of music we’re excited to bring to our community,” says Amendum. “The artists booked range from regional bands to national touring acts, some playing unrouted special shows at The Pyrle. Over the next several years, we will learn even more about what our community is hungry for, and we can adapt as needed, with the goal of hosting150 shows annually.”

On the booking side, The Pyrle has engaged Knitting Factory Presents, a division of the leading national group Knitting Factory Entertainment (KFE), as exclusive talent buyer. Its SVP James Irvine will co-book the venue alongside newly hired Talent Buyer Colm O’Toole. With 700+ concerts promoted already under his belt, O’Toole started booking shows throughout New York City in 2017 through his own indie promoter company HearHere Concerts. In 2019, Irvine and O’Toole first connected and co-promoted a series of shows at Knitting Factory Brooklyn. He moved to Colorado during the pandemic, where he become a force in the state’s concert scene through HearHere Concerts & Z2 Entertainment.

Through their innovative approach and dedication to excellence, KFE continues to influence the entertainment landscape, fostering cultural exchange and creating memorable experiences for fans and artists alike.

“The Pyrle is a serious room,” says Irvine. “It is the right size, built with flexibility in mind, and capable of presenting shows at a high level. The production package is exceptional, and artists will immediately feel the difference. This is among the most impressive new venues we have worked with and there is nothing else like it in Greensboro. KFE continues to expand its booking footprint by partnering with venues that invest in the artist experience and the long-term health of live music.”

The Pyrle is committed to a superlative fan experience, boasting a state-of-the art AV program to match much larger venues, with 26 industry-leading Meyer Sound front-facing audio units; 8 Meyer on-stage monitors; 64 on-stage inputs mixed through a Digico Quantum 225 console; a 9’ x 16’ video wall, 22,000 lumen Panasonic projector, and 283 inch diagonal screen; and a 35-unit lighting package. It’s also an artists’ haven with a lavish 1500 square-foot artist suite, green room, and three dressing rooms.

The first wave of shows this spring and summer will kick off with singer-songwriter Anders Osborne and includes: R&B and jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum; country-bluegrass musician Ricky Skaggs; punk rockers The Menzingers; jangle pop rockers The Connells; Americana folk duo Watchhouse; dubstep DJ and heavy metal musician Sullivan King; alt rockers Silversun Pickups; iconic reggae band The Wailers; roots-rock band Futurebirds; and ska-punk band Bumpin Uglies.
